Vape Tank Troubleshooting: How to Fix Your Tank

Vape Tank Releasing Vapour in Dark

Have you ever gone to take a hit, only to realise your vape tank isn’t working properly? A faulty vape tank can be terribly frustrating. Not only does it derail your vaping session, but it can also be bafflingly difficult to diagnose. Below, we discuss some common vape tank problems and how to fix them, so you can vape with ease once more.

Leakage

Probably the most common problem for vape tanks, leakages can be caused by any number of issues, ranging from an overfilled tank to poorly secured connections. Check that your O-rings and seals are placed correctly, and that none of them are loose or damaged. A cracked or missing seal is much cheaper and easier to replace than a whole tank. Also, make sure that everything is screwed on properly and that the tank isn’t overfilled. If it is, simply empty and clean it.

Check that the tank itself doesn’t have any cracks as well. In a worst-case scenario, you may need to replace it entirely.

Burnt taste

The taste of burnt vape liquid often occurs when your tank has run out of e-liquid or if you have just refilled a new coil with more juice, which basically means you’re just inhaling burnt cotton. Just top up the amount of liquid you have in your chamber and remember to always prime a new coil or pod by allowing the e-liquid to saturate for a few minutes.

However, if you’ve properly primed your coil and are still getting burnt hits, it might just be faulty, so toss it out and swap in a new one.

Not enough vapour/throat hit

If you’re not getting enough vapour production or throat hit, you might want to check on the PG/VG ratio of your vape liquid. The higher the PG level and nicotine content, the better the throat hit, while the higher the VG level, the more vapour produced.

If changing the vape juice is not the problem, you might want to recharge your battery to see if it helps with vapour production. Otherwise,

the issue might lie with your device and upgrading to a more advanced vaping device would be your best bet, allowing for a much better vaping experience.

Gurgling

Gurgling sounds coming from your vaporiser could indicate that you’ve overfilled your tank or that too much liquid has found its way into the atomiser. This problem requires a simple fix. Just eliminate the excess liquid and clean out your tank.

Battery not working

If your battery keeps cutting out, check that it has enough charge to keep working properly and ensure that you are using the right charger. Confirm that your charging ports and connections are kept clean as well. If none of these solutions seem to be working, however, it may instead be time to visit your local vape shop for a battery replacement.

Maintenance is Key

As we’ve shown above, vape tank issues are often easy to fix without any specialised skills or tools. In order to ensure that your vaping device is working in tip-top condition for a long while, it needs to be properly taken care of.
